The common stereotype of emo hair is to have it worn over one eye and dyed jet-black, (although it may be dyed or streaked in many other colors). Emo hair is normally associated with long bangs over the eyes hence the term ‘emo fringe.’ There are other types of emo hair but usually there is an ‘emo fringe.’
